BKJ Labs · Front-end modernization for enterprise SaaS.

I modernize enterprise SaaS front-ends — without breaking what already works.

14 years inside Salesforce, Gainsight, and Pegasystems. I migrated an 8-year-old Backbone app to Angular for 16,000 daily users with zero parity gaps, and cut Salesforce Experience Sites bundles by 40%. I now do that work for a small number of clients each year.

Services

Four things I do well, for teams running production software that people depend on.

Legacy Front-End Migration

Move an aging Backbone, jQuery, AngularJS, or early-React codebase onto a modern stack incrementally — shipping the whole way, with no feature freeze and no parity gaps.

Deliverables

  • Migration strategy & risk assessment
  • Incremental strangler-fig rollout
  • Parity test coverage
  • Team enablement

Ideal for: SaaS platforms carrying 5+ years of front-end debt

Performance Engineering

Find out why your app is slow, then fix it — bundle composition, SSR and hydration cost, render waterfalls, and Core Web Vitals that actually move.

Deliverables

  • Bundle & runtime audit
  • SSR / hydration optimization
  • Prioritized fix roadmap
  • Before-and-after measurement

Ideal for: Teams whose app got slow as it grew

Fractional Front-End Lead

Senior front-end direction without a senior front-end headcount — architecture decisions, code standards, review discipline, and mentoring for a team that's grown past its guardrails.

Deliverables

  • Architecture review & decision records
  • Code standards and review process
  • Hands-on mentoring
  • Hiring and technical interview support

Ideal for: Scale-ups without a front-end architect

Product Engineering (0→1)

Take a product from idea to production — design system, application, tests, CI, and deployment. The products below were all built this way, solo.

Deliverables

  • Next.js / React application
  • Design system & accessible UI
  • Test suite and CI pipeline
  • Production deployment

Ideal for: Founders who need a senior engineer, not an agency

Backbone → Angular Migration

16,000 daily users, zero parity gaps

Gainsight's Cockpit was an 8-year-old Backbone application at the centre of the product. I led the architecture and the team through an incremental migration to Angular — shipped continuously, without a feature freeze, and without a single parity regression reaching customers.

Experience Sites Performance

40% smaller bundles at Salesforce scale

Salesforce Experience Sites shipped duplicated code and unnecessary assets through its SSR pipeline. I restructured how the pipeline composed and served bundles, cutting bundle size by 40% across customer-facing sites.

How we can work together

Three ways in, priced up front so you can decide whether to talk to me without booking a call to find out.

Architecture & Performance Audit

Fixed fee · 1–2 weeks

From $2,500

A written, prioritized assessment of your front-end: what's slow, what's risky, what to do first, and what it will cost.

  • Codebase and bundle analysis
  • Prioritized findings with effort estimates
  • Written report and walkthrough call
  • Fully credited against a follow-on project

Most common

Migration or Build Engagement

Fixed scope · 6–12 weeks

From $12,000

Hands-on delivery of a defined outcome — a migration, a rebuild, or a new product — with weekly demos and no timesheets.

  • Scoped milestones agreed up front
  • Weekly demo and written progress note
  • Production-ready, tested, documented code
  • Handover and knowledge transfer

Fractional Front-End Lead

Monthly retainer · 3-month minimum

From $4,000/mo

Ongoing senior front-end direction for your team — architecture, standards, reviews, and mentoring.

  • Agreed hours per week
  • Architecture decisions and reviews
  • Team mentoring and pairing
  • Async availability for your team

Not sure which fits? Most engagements start with the audit — it's the cheapest way to find out whether the rest is worth doing, and the fee comes off the project if you continue.

About

Bhavesh KumarFront-End Engineering Consultant, Hyderabad, India · working with teams worldwide.

Most front-end problems at enterprise scale aren't really front-end problems. They're risk problems. The codebase works, thousands of people depend on it daily, and nobody wants to be the one who breaks it — so it quietly gets slower and harder to hire for until a rewrite feels inevitable.

I've spent 14 years on the other side of that decision. At Gainsight I led an 8-year-old Backbone application through a full Angular migration serving roughly 16,000 daily users, shipped incrementally, with zero parity gaps. At Salesforce I restructured the Experience Sites SSR pipeline and cut bundle size by 40%. At Pegasystems I built enterprise applications from the ground up.

I work with a small number of clients at a time, hands-on, end to end: architecture, implementation, performance, and the knowledge transfer that lets your team own the result. If you want to see how I build when nobody is watching, the products below are mine — designed, built, tested, and shipped solo.

How I work

01

Scoping call

Twenty minutes on your actual problem, your constraints, and whether I'm the right person. If I'm not, I'll say so.

02

Written proposal

Scope, milestones, price, and what success looks like — in writing, before any code. You can take it to someone else.

03

Ship weekly

Working software every week, with a demo and a written note. No status theatre, no surprise at the end.

04

Hand over

Documented, tested code plus the knowledge transfer your team needs to own it without me.

Why work with me

You get the senior engineer

No account manager, no handoff to a junior after the sales call. The person who scopes your project is the person who writes the code.

Enterprise rigor, no bureaucracy

14 years shipping inside Salesforce, Gainsight, and Pega — applied at the speed of a team of one. Tests, CI, and documentation come standard, not as an upsell.

Fixed scope, not timesheets

We agree the outcome and the price before work starts. You know what you're getting and what it costs; I carry the estimation risk.

Tell me what's broken.

A slow app, a migration nobody wants to start, a team without senior front-end direction. Send me the details and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help — and if I can't, who might.
